Besides the detrimental influences of modern hectic lifestyle and/ or working conditions on the health, the design of modern homes nowadays is also to blame. In fact, the way modern homes are being designed and built these days is increasingly becoming a significant cause for health related issues.
Not only it is common now to find many modern homes subjected to negative external Sha (外峦形煞), the shortcomings in the interior layout and placement of furniture and fittings etc (内峦形煞) have also contributed to health related issues for the occupants. Even though such homes do not necessary mean they are also inauspicious in terms of wealth, one must remember that health is one's biggest wealth.
With regards to health assessment (健康分析), besides Xing Luan (形峦) considerations – External and Internal Forms – of a property, the Li Qi (理气) considerations play a part as well. Thus likewise, for improving one’s health (催健康), there are also Xing Luan and Li Qi Fengshui methods which may be undertaken to improve the health of the occupants (形理合参).
For Li Qi, among the Fengshui methods for improving health (催健康), one of the more common methods which is simple yet effective – Ba Zhai Fa (八宅法), involves the considerations of the stove or bed placement. For considerations involving the bed, this entails having the bed at one’s Fu Wei (伏位), Sheng Qi (生气) or Yan Nian (延年) directions and facing one’s Tian Yi direction (向天医方).
To find these directions, one must first determine the Ming Gua (命卦) for the person in question. Below is a quick reference table for identifying the Ming Gua based on one’s Birth Year.
For example, the Ming Gua for a Male born in 1960 is Xun Gua (巽卦); a Female born in 1977 is Kan Gua (坎卦). Having known the Ming Gua for the person in question, the directions can now be identified using the quick reference table below.
For example, for a Male born in 1964 – Li Ming Gua (离命卦), his Fu Wei, Sheng Qi and Yan Nian directions are Li Gua/ South (离卦/ 南方), Zhen Gua/ East (震卦/ 东方) and Kan Gua/ North (坎卦/ 北方) respectively, and his Tian Yi location is Xun Gua/ Southeast (巽卦/ 东南方).
As such, for a Male born in 1964, the usage of bed placement to improve his health entails placing the bed – to be carried out on an auspicious day considering the three factors of “Heaven” (Time), “Man” (Person in Question) and “Earth” (Location) – at either the South (伏位), East (生气) or North (延年) of the bedroom and facing Southeast (天医).
In addition, when undertaking the above, one should not neglect the Xing Luan considerations as well, highlighted in previous articles, so as to avoid having side effects as a result of conflicts with the bed.
Lastly, one must note that the above method is for the purpose of improving health (催健康), and not for assessing the health (健康分析) of the occupants or person in question; these two are different!
