Location of bathrooms/ toilets in most homes are fixed, or rather, it is often not within practical or cost means to relocate them. They are commonly located at the back of the kitchen and/ or in the master bedroom. There are numerous different views held by most people and even Fengshui practitioners with regards to the location of bathrooms/ toilets.

Some views are based on Landforms (形峦), some are based on the Compass or Li Qi (理气). Views based on Landforms are widely known and simple to observe by oneself. For Li Qi, some opined that if the toilet is located at the Wealth Location or Academic Location, the wealth or the academic prospects will be flushed away or tainted. What if one is to place a vacuum cleaner at the Wealth Location or Academic Location? What's the difference between the bathrooms/ toilets of today's world and those in the olden days?

There are also views that because bathrooms/ toilets contains Water element, it should be at locations that are suitable for water placements in Period 8. Furthermore, in Flying Stars method (飞星), it is said to be indirectly good if their locations contain inauspicious star numbers.

Views aside, the question one should ask is whether the emphasis on the location of bathroom/ toilets be based on Landforms, or Li Qi or both? And why? What is the 易理 behind?

Allow me to share below, situations of bathroom/ toilet locations which one should avoid in homes. In avoiding these situations, one would have already taken care most of the Fengshui don'ts of bathroom/ toilet locations.

1. Toilet door should not face the bed
2. Toilet should not be located behind the stove
3. Toilet door should not face the stove
4. Toilet should not be located behind the altar
5. Toilet door should not face the main door or room door

First impression one may have on the above situations are that they are simple, widely known and perhaps being seen as rudimentary. 大道至简！Fengshui consideration for the location of bathrooms/ toilets are neither complex nor some profound knowledge. Understanding the key factors of Auspicious or Inauspicious that will influence the property and the occupants is what matters most.

However, though the 5 situations mention above will have taken care most of the don'ts of bathroom/ toilet locations, there exist a few special but important situations where bathrooms/ toilets should not be located. What are they? I can say though, none of the views mention early in the introduction. The answer lies in 易理.

购买单位后，一般的人在装修时很少会把厕所目前所占的位置更改。一来是装修耗费不小，在来就是设计的限制，一般都设在厨房后和主卧内。对于厕所的位置，很多人，甚至许多风水师都有自己的说法。

有些说法是以形栾论，一些是以理气论。形峦的论法大多都应该有接触到，也较容易自己观察。理气方面的论法，有些认为厕所的位置如果在财或文昌位，就易把财或文昌冲走、污染、不利小孩读书等的说法。那么试问，把吸尘机摆放在财或文昌位又如何呢？现今的厕所和古代的厕所有什么不同呢？

也有一些认为因为厕所带水性，如以8运论，就应该设在8运宜见水的方位。又，如以飞星论，一些认为如果厕所是在凶星组合的方位，其实是件好事。

各自的说法对于否不谈，应该自问的是，厕所的位置应该是以形栾论，理气论还是形理合参呢？原因何在？背后的易理又何在？

以下就让我分享一些厕所位置的风水禁忌，也是我们不想见到的情况。避开这些情况足以照顾到大部分厕所位置的风水禁忌了。

一，厕所门不易冲床

对于以上的情况，第一个印象也许是觉得这些禁忌似乎过于简单或普遍。大道至简啊！厕所位置的禁忌不是什么复杂或深奥的大学问。了解影响宅第和宅主的吉凶因素才是重要关键。

又，虽以上的5种情况以照顾到了大部分厕所位置的风水禁忌，仍然存在几个特殊而重要的情况，是不应该设厕所的。是什么情况呢？可以说的是，不是那些以上提到的各自说法！答案就在易理中。
