Simplicity is Bliss?
Simplicity is Bliss?

redroomPeople will tend to agree that simplicity is bliss and would yearn for it. Conversely, this may not apply when it comes to the perception of Fengshui. Most tends to gauge the quantity; number of items a Fengshui practitioner assess when he or she visits a property as a judgment of quality, from location of toilet bowl, colors of furniture and fittings to location of every electrical items etc.

As a result, most Fengshui practitioners' time during his or her audit is spent on assessing the interior of the client’s house. Though such perception from the client’s point of view is understandable, this should not be the case for a Fengshui practitioner.

Quantity and Quality is not unattainable. But Quantity is not about assessing every item or area in the property, but on understanding and recognizing the key factors of Auspicious or Inauspicious that will influence the property and the occupants, and the major key factors are often from the exterior of the property rather than the interior.  With the key factors identified, Quality is about assessing the impact/ influences from the factors and their appropriate solutions, considered in totality.

Q: Should I use a round or rectangle shape dining table?

A: One should follow his or her preferences or the suggestions from one’s interior designer

Q: I was told a certain color is suitable for me, as such, should I consider that color for the walls, furniture and/ or bed?

A:  A professional interior designer’s suggestions on the colors and shapes for the property’s furniture and fittings are not without basis, considering even the personality of the occupants. Obviously, one do not expect the extreme, for example, the entire walls and furniture to be either Red, Black or Pink etc...

Q: But they (Interior Designers) do not know Fengshui

A: Having identified the key factors influencing the property, the Auspicious, Inauspicious and Events are already known

Q: Can I send you a copy of my property’s floorplan for assessment?

A: One cannot based solely on the floorplan for a Fengshui assessment of the property and influences on the occupants. Whether the property is Auspicious or Inauspicious is not dependent on the interior layout. Furthermore, one may be wrong in his or her assessment if based solely on the floorplan.

Below is the room of a client’s son. Based on the room Fengshui, son is clever but narrow minded, has frequent mood swings, strong-willed and difficulties in disciplining the child.

PRroom

If one were to base solely on the floorplan below, the assessment will be different and wrong.

PRroomplan

It is also important to understand that assessment based solely on floorplan cannot determine the Auspicious or Inauspicious (吉凶) of the property, and will also be incomplete.

On the other hand, for the above room, what do you think is an effective and simple solution?
