知其雄, 守其雌。。。
知其雄, 守其雌。。。

laoziOften, the focus of many Fengshui practitioners is on Li Qi (理气). However, such focus is wrong. Why is this so?

In Nature, we are surrounded by those our naked eyes can see and those we can’t see. How do we observe and/ or recognize those we can’t see? Lao Zi (老子) says “知其雄, 守其雌。。。知其白, 守其黑。。。”.

The emphasis for Fengshui must be on Landforms (形栾), using our naked eyes to see and recognize the formation (局) formed, and thus in turn, allows us to observe and/ or recognize what we can’t see. Therefore, what to see and how to recognize are crucial.

E.g., though many are aware that Qi Mouth (气口) and Water Mouth (水口) are important considerations in Fengshui, most however, do not exactly know what real Qi Mouth and Water Mouth really are, their differences, and how to recognize them.

If one fails to recognize the Landforms and formation correctly, all other efforts thereafter are futile. 气不得形,无因而立;形栾不真,理气必假.
