Since the beginning of 玄空 legacy in ancient times, the Fengshui principles and methods are based only on 《法诀》 and 《眼诀》. Thereafter, in order to prevent the lost of knowledge over time, and to allow later generations to validate their Fengshui principles and methods against, Classics are written and passed down.

The words “Classical Fengshui” are used by many Fengshui practitioners today and I am also sure many have also come across these words. What exactly does “Classical” means? Though the word may mean differently to each practitioner, at the very minimum, the word “Classical” should mean that the Fengshui methods the practitioners are using are based on historical Fengshui Chinese classics.

杨公养老看雌雄，

天下诸书对不同。

The opening of all classics is evidently the most important. Qing Nang Xu is no different. However, the emphasis from most annotations on the first sentence of Qing Nang Xu is wrong. Most commented on the reason for the choice of the word Ci Xiong (雌雄) over Yin Yang (阴阳).  In fact, the emphasis actually should be on the word (看) or See.
