A few days ago, I was asked whether the floor number (层数) is a consideration in Fengshui. At present, there are still quite a few practitioners who select or assess units based on the floor number. Briefly, the methods use are generally based on the Producing and Controlling (生克) relationship of the Five Elements (五行) to determine the auspicious floor numbers.

Previously, I have highlighted some common external Sha (外煞) which are best to be avoided when selecting an apartment unit. However, if one’s current home unfortunately faces such external Sha, what five fundamental aspects one should know?
